FAQ & Troubleshooting
Common questions and quick fixes for the AI Assistant.
Frequently asked questions
Is the assistant just answering questions, or does it actually do things?
It performs real actions. When you ask it to open a camera, start a recording, or launch a job, it executes the same operation you would perform in the dashboard.
Does it work in my language?
Yes. The assistant understands and replies in your language. Just write in the language you prefer.
Can it do anything my account can't?
No. The assistant is permission-scoped — it inherits your account's roles and permissions and can only do what you're allowed to do.
Will it delete or change things without asking?
No. Actions that change state or can't be undone always ask for confirmation first.
Do I need to memorize commands?
No. There is no command syntax. Describe what you want in plain language.
Is this the same as the AI Platform inference features?
No. The AI Platform runs computer-vision models on your video streams (detection, classification, analytics). The AI Assistant is a conversational way to control the whole platform — including starting AI Platform jobs. See AI Platform.
Troubleshooting
The assistant declined my request
This usually means your account lacks the required permission. Ask an administrator to review your role. See User Management.
It opened the wrong camera or device
Multiple items may have matched your wording. Re-run the request with a more specific name, or pick the correct item from the selection card the assistant shows.
My scheduled task didn't start immediately
Scheduling is handled by Cossa, which checks every minute. A task set for the current minute may start on the next cycle. See How It Works.
An action needs a device, but nothing happened
Live actions require an online device (and, for camera actions, a camera on that device). Confirm the device is online and try again. See Devices.
It replied in the wrong language
Write your next message in your preferred language and the assistant will follow.
