ποΈ Overview
Cordatus VMS (Video Management System) covers everything related to connecting, managing, streaming and recording cameras. From adding a physical or IP camera to watching a live video wall, scheduling recordings and reviewing footage on a timeline, VMS gives you a complete surveillance layer that runs on your own devices.
ποΈ Quickstart
From an empty screen to a live video wall and a first recording β in about five minutes.
ποΈ Connecting Cameras
Cordatus works with IP cameras (RTSP, HTTP/HTTPS and ONVIF) and with physical cameras (USB, CSI and GMSL) that are plugged directly into a device. Every camera is added from the same place: the New Camera button on the Video Management β Cameras page.
ποΈ Managing Cameras
Once cameras are connected, the Video Management β Cameras page is where you organise them: group them by site or purpose, rename them, adjust their settings and remove the ones you no longer need.
ποΈ Streaming Cameras
Live video is watched on the Video Wall, the large panel on the Video Management β Cameras page. Streams are pulled from the camera by a target device β one of your Cordatus devices β which decodes the video and forwards it to your browser.
ποΈ Camera Templates
A template is a saved video-wall layout: which cameras are open, in which grid, in which order. Instead of building the same wall every morning, you save it once and load it with a single click β on any screen, on any computer.
ποΈ Recording Streams
Cordatus records camera streams on the device, not in the cloud. The device pulls the stream, writes it to its own disk and keeps recording even if the internet connection drops. The Web App is only the remote control: you start, pause, stop and review recordings from Video Management β Record List, wherever you are.
ποΈ Watching Recordings
Video Management β Watch Records plays back what your cameras recorded. Several cameras can be watched side by side on a shared timeline, so you can follow one event across every camera that saw it.
ποΈ Record Scheduling
Instead of starting and stopping recordings by hand, describe when they should run and let Cordatus do it. A calendar holds one or more events β recurring or one-time time ranges β and can be assigned to recordings, jobs and alarms.
ποΈ Camera Map
The Map page places your devices and cameras on a real map, so a large estate can be understood at a glance β and so an operator can open the camera that covers a place simply by clicking where that place is.
ποΈ Adding a New Drive
Cordatus enables users to record their camera streams easily. This section explains how to integrate and set up storage drives specifically for recording camera feeds. By efficiently adding and configuring drives, users can guarantee a reliable and effective recording setup, improving Cordatus's overall performance.
